First intarsia project

One of my big goals when I started knitting was to try out intarsia, as it opens up so many possibilities for patterns and designs.
This was my first intarsia-project, inspired by Kit Couture's design Hirsholm Bomber designed by the danish design duo Hvass Hannibal - favorites of mine for a long time.

I made my own version, both because that is one of my favorite parts of the process - designing and constructing. But another reason is, that knitting can be a super expensive hobby. If you buy top of the line yarn for all projects it will be easy to empty your bank account. So I like to find cheaper alternatives. The tick if finding the right balance between quality and price, which is not always easy.

Amazing Mette! Can't get my head round that you went from knitting scarves to this! Maybe I'll dare to follow a pattern and then eventually get good enough to freestyle too (I've only ever mades scarves and snoods). This bomber is so cool!

Glad to see you blogging again, and seeing your knitted masterpieces :) Hope you and the family are well! xx

Oh, it's so good to hear from you (and that anyone is still reading blogs!).

I am so happy I finally to the jump to following a recipe, because you so quickly see all the possibilities for freestyling!

I can recommend the patterns by Petite knit - a danish designer who also has patterns in swedish and english. In my experience she has a very good way of writing the recipes and the internet is full of good tutorial videos to help you along every step of the way!
