The Living Room - Part I

During the winter/spring 2014, while I was pregnant, we slowly started transforming this place. The house deal was still not finalised so we only did a minimum: painted and fixed the floors in our bedroom and Elinor's room, and as the deal seemed to get closer to going through, we (or mostly D) started removing the horrible woodchip wallpaper from the living room. It was messy and disgusting, to tell you the truth.

The day before Theo was born, the house deal finally went through, and though we did take some time to focus only on the arrival of little T, we immediately started lining up the contractors to begin their part of the renovation.

In the summer 2014 we moved ALL our things into our bedroom and E's room (you literally had to crawl over boxes and furniture to get to your cloths or to E's bed). We lived in those two rooms for about 2 months! We tore down the old kitchen and the contractors began tearing down walls and prepping the living room for painting and building up the new bathroom - leaving us without any water for stretches of time - and the even without a toilet at one point. It was extremely uncomfortable and we only survived because of the summer's good weather and our incredibly sweet neighbours that let us borrow not just their shower and toilet but even their part of the house when ever they were away.

These photos are from the living room - from the wallpaper being removed - to walls coming down and - finally - to things building up again. Just seeing the walls have a smooth surface was incredible. And the light! bringing in the light from those two windows - and from the living room into the staircase was amazing.

Nu er jeg efterhånden ved at dø af spænding! Det ser meget lovende ud :)
