love/hate

I bought some vintage Marimekko fabric + several handkerchiefs in Tokyo and I have some sewing projects planed, but I am too busy to get them done.

It is actually quite silly; I am dying to have time to sew these things, but when it all comes down to it, I really don't like sewing. I sort of blame my mom :)
When I was a teenager she got me hooked on sewing - or rather the possibility of making exactly what you wanted to! And I am still under that spell - I still see a dress or a shirt or a bag and think: "I can make that myself -better!" totally forgetting that I really don't like the act of sewing := I am too impatient.

I totally have the same problem! Now i have a huge pile of beautiful fabrics in my closet, just waiting and waiting :)

My mother-in-law lent me her sewing machine a year ago, and I had the very BEST intentions to create stuff, curtains, tote bags, skirts, tea towels, you name it... a year later - nothing! Now it's just sitting there, like a picture of my guilt ;)

Jeg har det lige sådan... jeg gir lidt min farmor skylden;) ønsker mig et rum kun til min symaskine og en masse lækkert stof, og en masse tid oveni:) man kan vel altid drømme.

Haha, it´s EXACTLY the same here. I can´t stand sitting at the Machine for Hours. Worst thing are those straight stitches for 4 meters or so when sewing Curtains and Stuff. Killing me.

I feel exactly the same! Every time I see something I tell myself 'I could do that, in a colour I like better, or this way'. I have piles of fabric too and never seem to be ready to do anything. Impatient too, so I just want to throw away everything when the slightest problem occurs... :)
