City of Difference
I know most places are probably like this, but some how Tokyo seems like a city of difference more than any other place I have ever been.
The traditional, the modern, the cute, the kitsch, the beautiful, the colorful, the huge, the small, the regular and the designed.
It was a rush to be surrounded by all of these extremes!
These are from our first real day in Tokyo. The day we landed did not count. Jet lag. Ouch.
▶ Mia Frida: You could find a reasonably priced Ryokan or hostel - nothing is exactly cheap, but I don't think it is overpriced either. The apartment we rented through Air bnb was exceptionally cheap for what I found.

Well said. We went to Japan for our honeymoon 5 years ago and told everyone after we came back home that the whole country was a bit like walking into a museum and casino at the same time. Can't wait to see your next few Tokyo posts. Makes me want to go back even more.
